Jagath Mahaguru Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan. (1900 – 1981)
Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan, the founder of Universal Peace Sanctuary, was born on May 2nd, 1900 in Kansapuram, a small village in Ramanathapuram District, Tamilnadu, India. At the age of 11, he had an inquisitive thirst and made a will, that one day he will by all means see God. With that determination, by prayers, penance and yogic techniques he tried everything for the noble divine cause. By 1919 he went to Burma. At the age of 38, Paranjothi Mahan got initiated by a pious religious person into Kundalini Yoga Meditation.
He returned to India in 1939 and first stepped in Madurai. In his noble mission of spreading the spiritual essence and to impart the true wisdom, he established an organization named Universal Peace Sanctuary. He wrote a treatise called ‘I God’ based on his many years of inner experience and self-realization. It comprises of his philosophy and teachings. He travelled all over the world covering more than 90 countries and had trained many ardent dedicated disciples to become Master teachers, establishing centres in India and abroad. He attained samadhi on 7th January 1981. Jagath Mahaguru Gnanavallal Paranjothi Mahan was the first and the foremost Spiritual Master in the spiritual history, who simplified the process of Kundalini Initiation, and gave it to whoever sought, irrespective of caste, creed, colour and language.
